Thinking out of the Box: Israeli Innovations for Public Transport
Sinces decades busses are very typical for the public transport in Israel. Relatively new is the dynamics of start-ups: young companies with creative products and services mix up markets. Tel Aviv is number 2 globally speaking in terms of financing those technology based start-ups. Only the Silicon Valley attracts more investment.
Transportation companies can profit from those innovations, too. Ozem-BD focuses on Israeli start-ups with unique advantages. When they outperform in Israel the experienced Ozem-team assists going abroad. Key are disruptive ideas to lower the operational expenses and parallel improve the quality of transport for the passengers.
Optibus fits that approach. This company established a breakthrough to optimize vehicles and drivers. Optibus offers non-linear programmed software and the results flow in within seconds. Thanks to unique algorithms there is a new standard of fleet optimization in Israel. First customers could save on their operational expenses between 7 % und 15 %. Meanwhile tenders are won only with Optibus.
In Tel Aviv passengers use Hopon as new experience for the eTicketing. Ultrasound beacons from this start-up work up to 20 meter distance. Via the cloud tickets are issued on the passenger´s smartphone. This speeds up the boarding-process tremendously. This innovation is very cheap in comparison to NFC-based technology and can be a good add-on to existing ticketing systems.
Ozem BD is a bridge for other innovative concepts from the start-up nation Israel. Cronus-Cyber i.e. simulates human hackers via software. It is the first time that 24/7 penetration testing can be done. The results are very good and normally shocking. The software is well worth the money because mitigations are recommended automatically. Gizmox Transposition changes old software-code into new programming languages. This is done mainly by their unique software and therefore very cost-efficient.
Other start-ups are in the pipeline to expand internationally.
